Hire an Elven translator...

Hey!
Any fans of The Walking Dead out there? I've seen the first season and really loved it. The writing is really great with natural sounding dialogue. It's based on a comic book series produced by Image Comics which is really well done as well. The thing about the story is that the characters are very interesting so it doesn't really matter the setting, I would still be into the story. It just happens to be about a zombie apocalypse. I suppose if you are disgusted by gurgling undead and their dangling body parts, you should stay away, but otherwise check it out. I dig it.

In novel news, I am nearly at 50,000 words on Shards of S'Darin. That's page 152 for those counting. By now, the characters have taken over. I have no more control. Dwarves are everywhere, Pith are everywhere, the Rot is rampant, Deckard is a replicant. I hope you all enjoy book two. I've put a lot into it and I hope it shows once it's published. As always, I appreciate your support and feel free to contact me. I promise to send a reply, but I might write it in Elven so hire a translator.

  1. Just finished reading book 1 and immediately went to B&N to download book 2. When I realized it wasn't out yet, I raised my fist to the sky and shouted "Wind, Why isn't it here!" Glad you're making progress.
I also would love to read the Battle of Black Sun if you wrote it.
My one request/ suggestion, is a Dream of Storms Wiki. While your book was fairly easy to follow all the people and places, I'm the kind of guy who likes to be reminded who did what with the lead pipe in the conservatory. It would be nice to be able to look up a character, race, item, or place and go "oh yeah, now I remember what that's all about!"
    Keep up the good work!

  2. First off, let me say, great comment, Peter! Loved it. Book Two is coming along. I suppose I am around 25% complete right now. It will be much longer than Book One. A Wiki is a great idea. Finding the time to do it, is the only issue. I have a 10 month old, so it's hard to find much free time. Usually, I write from around 9 at night to around 11(when creating a Wiki would be possible) so I can't do it then. I will definitely put it on the list.
The Battle of the Black Sun book is a possibility. With Book Two, I've written a very important flashback scene of that time, filling the reader in on one of the incidents that gave Hagan his leave-me-alone attitude about battle. It's one of the first missions that he and Vasp went on together all those years ago.
Anyway, I'm really happy that you enjoyed the book. I appreciate your comments and please feel free to stay in touch.
